- Mother of Janis (Thompson) Fielder (RHS '69), Jon Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Jill (Thompson) Koerth, & Joe Thompson


- Wife of Jack Thompson (deceased),  CMSgt. in the USAF,  last stationed at Randolph AFB ; they were married for 60 years


- Lived/grew up in Rio Grande Valley, Harlingen, TX. Then lived in California (March Air Field), Japan (Tachikawa Airfield), Hawaii (Hickam AFB), Harlingen, TX (Harlingen AFB) and Universal City, TX (Randolph AFB)


- Charter member of First Baptist Church of Universal City; worked in First Baptist Academy for 30+ years as an administrative assistant and “milk lady” at lunchtime in FBA


- Superfan of Dallas Cowboys


- Double superfan of San Antonio Spurs


- Inveterate shopper and bargain hunter


- Made the best tacos, pinto beans and peanut brittle ever!

Betty "Jean" Thompson, born on August 22, 1925, in Whitewright, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2016, in Bozeman, Montana, at the age of 90.

She was an administrative assistant at First Baptist Academy in Universal City. Jean is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack; parents, Ruby and Lee Whitworth; sisters, Bonnye and Dorothe. She is survived by her children, Janis Jean Fielder and husband, Ron of Pasadena, TX, Jon Edward Thompson and wife, Brenda of Boerne, TX, James Lee Thompson and wife, Tricia of Bozeman, MT, Joseph Robert Thompson and wife DeAnna of Helotes, TX, and Jill JoAnn Koerth and husband, Ronald of San Angelo, TX; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren. The visitation service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 12:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Universal City with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.



In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Jean Thompson Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church of Universal City.
