Hi, Gloria. I've enjoyed looking through your blog. How did everyone get so much older than I have??? LOL By the way. That photo of the football team was indeed from '64. The handsome guy is me.

Heh girl....

Is that football picture a hoot or what! God we were young. I also believe it is 1964. Seniors from 1963 (Jay Towner and the gang) are not in this picture and 1964 would be only other choice. I loved looking at those boys (then and now.....)!!!

There are no members of the first graduating ctlass in the photo, so it's almost certainly the team from the fall of 1963 -- with the oldest guys being a number of us from the graduating class of '64. Also ..... your pal Chuck was there the second year school was in existence, but not the first.

I found your picture of the ’64 Rohawks football team on your blog. Steve is number 55 in the right hand part of the photo. I sent it to my family. My brother Kevin reminded me of the last game of that year. We lost miserably every game that year. It was in New Braunfels as I recall, the last few seconds of the game and we were losing like 60 to nothing. Both teams were standing around waiting for the time to tick down. My brother Steve who was the center picked up the football and ran it into the end zone. It was hilarious. He called it his “centerback sneak”. The other team and the referees were all chasing him and were NOT amused. It’s a memory that is quintessential of my brother Steve.

Can you share this on the blog? Surely someone on that team remembers that moment.

#71 is surely my brother Ed and #20 is a Watkins, I'm sure. And isn't #24 Buzz Mulkins????

Yes, #24 is indeed Buzz.

Hey..we won four games that year..really put it on Judson and Robert Cole..we did get lit up by New Braunfels but that was a scrimmage...lots of fun...many good guys there...who remembers #10? Maceo Childs...Coach Mickler had him run the upcoming teams offense..he was a good guy to put up with getting hit pretty hard each week in practice..and Steff is totally correct about Steve...He introduced himself as Stephen G Burgoon and the G stands for Goodness or scrotum, depending on whom he was meeting...miss you Steve !!!
