DOUG GREENLEAF '65

Hi Gloria,
Debbie Sansom sent me the link to the RHS blog page and I have had been there several times. Nice! It is such a good way to "spread the word" without having to go broke buying stamps. You're so tech-savy.
I've included several pictures with this e-mail; My two kids and me, Carla and I at a work event and Carla and I at the Acropolis when I was on a business trip in Greece, and also a picture of me and my most demanding hobby.
I started flying in the late 70's, but had to put it on hold as it was too expensive what with trying to clothe and feed two young 'uns. Things worked out in 2004 to pick it back up and I finished up my private certificate and bought a light plane at the end of the same year. It worked out well as I used that same plane with some modifications to get my instrument rating last year.

I am planning on attending the football game and the partie at Jeff's place. Going to plan a flight over his home and get some aerial shots.

You do such a great job of keeping everyone together. You're wonderful.

Much love,
Doug

Dear Gloria,

I wanted to write and let you know that Mac and I may not be able to attend the reunion in Sept. On June 9, a severe storm hit our area. Seven enormous pine trees in our neighbors yard were blown down on top of our garage and part of our house. When the storm was over, we tried to get outside to see the damage but live power lines were draped over our back door. We then tried to go out the front but the power lines were in the front yard. We called 911 and the Fire Dept. sent a truck out to help us. It took them 20 min. to get to us as they had to cut trees that were down in the street to make a path through. We then were able to get out and spent the next three nights in a hotel. I'm including three photos of some of the damage.

It took a tree service 8 days using a 5 man crew to get the trees cleared away from our property. We're waiting for estimates to submit to USAA before we can begin the repair work. So, I don't know what will be done when.

I was really hoping to come to the reunion but I just don't know if we'll need to be here getting the repairs made. Could you let me know a deadline for registering for the reunion?

I hope all is well with you. Take care.

With love, Gail Steed McIlhany Class of '64

TO THE WOMEN IN MY LIFE!

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes

Life happens.
Distance separates.

Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.

Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.

BUT.........
Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you.
A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you...
Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life! The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I.

When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still.

Thank you for being in my life!

LUNCH AT OLIVE GARDEN

My dad, Bill Campbell, and I had lunch last week with Linda Tucker Prater and her mom, Wanda Tucker and Kathy Dailey Norton and her mom, Fran Dailey. It was wonderful getting together and trying to remember the old days at Randolph.
