RANDOLPH FIELD EDUCATION FOUNDATION - INFORMATION

Randolph Field Education Foundation
Randolph Field Education Foundation Military Child Benefit Music Festival

Who benefits: The military children of Randolph Field ISD

The purpose:  To support the learning and education of the military child whose parents have sacrificed selflessly for the freedoms we all enjoy.

About Randolph Field ISD and the military child:

Randolph Field ISD is one of 7 districts in the United States that is conterminous with the boundaries of a military installation.  This results in a Texas independent school district sitting on Air Force property, which means our district has zero tax payers.  Our district educates 1402 students over three campuses.  We are unique in that our student population is comprised of 98% military connected children.

The military child’s life is much different than that of most civilians.  Being in the military results in several moves over the life of an active duty member, which creates many social and emotional issues for their children.  Some military children will change schools nine times before they graduate.  For example, the Randolph Elementary 2015 fifth grade class had 5 out of 120 students that attended RES since kindergarten.  The challenge for these students is making new friends every 2-3 years, learning new systems, which can vary from state to state, and acclimating to new surroundings, which make a sense of belonging very difficult to achieve.  A transient lifestyle coupled with the realities of deployment create a hardship that is unique to the RFISD students.  Many of our students have experienced multiple deployments, sometimes with both parents deployed simultaneously, and the parent returning with wartime related physical and emotional damage.  Most of us are aware, and grateful for, the sacrifice an active duty member has given for our freedoms, but many forget the difficulties that sacrifice places on their children.  Our district recognizes those difficulties and is dedicated to creating the most stable and loving environment possible, while providing a second to none education to all students.

However, like most school districts, our funding is limited.  Ours more than others since we do not have a tax base to seek assistance from.  The Randolph Field Education Foundation exists to support the Randolph Field Independent School District, financially, through various fund raising events.  The foundation is in its inaugural year.  We are planning a Military Child Benefit Music Festival for the RFISD, to be held at the Blue Bonnet Palace in Selma, TX.  We are seeking musical artists to perform and assist us in our fundraising efforts.  We will be hosting a Military Child Benefit Music Festival on Sunday, October 2nd and would be honored if you would perform. With your talent, we feel confident we can raise the funds these military children desperately need to make their educational experience as successful as possible. They, along with their parents, have given so much, and we could like to show them the proper THANK YOU!

We ask for you to graciously consider playing our benefit concert on Sunday, October 2nd at Blue Bonnet Palace.  We will be selling general admission tickets and VIP tables to this exciting event with food trucks, food court, silent auction, and much more.  We will have the proper security.  A donation of your time would greatly be appreciated. We also understand how difficult it is for such a large donation, and would be grateful for any generosity and your availability.

Thank you so very much for your consideration.  We are so blessed to live in the greatest country on Earth and strive to educate children who have as much dedication and pride as their devoted parents.

 Warmest Regards,
