JILL WAGNER-PORTER '64
Hi Gloria, Let me see where should I start... I'm living in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles and after 32 years of marriage, both my children out of the house and my husband wanting to move back to Australia, it seemed like a good time to throw in the towel and say that's all folks. So here I am single again in my twilight years and enjoying it. I'm still a realtor with Coldwell Banker and can't even think about retirement...ever, but with the market getting a little better maybe there is tiny little light at the end of a very long tunnel.
I'm very lucky to have two incredible children that I'm very proud of. My son graduated from medical school over two years ago and is a Capt. in the Air Force, stationed at the medical facility on Whitman AFB in Missouri. My daughter is a Marketing Executive at Fox Studios in Los Angeles. I spent most of March and some of April in Nebraska helping my mother recover from Colon Cancer surgery. She has amazingly bounced back and she says she is feeling better then she has in years. While she was in the hospital, I was staying alone in her big white farm house out in the middle of nowhere being chased by wild turkeys. What an exciting life I live.!!!
Well now you are somewhat brought up to date on my life, I'm sure I've left a lot of things out, but that's the one great thing about getting older, no short term memory. You turn around and.... poof it's gone.

RICK NORTON - '66

I came across your blog quite by accident, and a day late and a dollar short, as I missed the reunion in 2008!
I found Bonnie Reed Gallogly a few days ago on FB and she mentioned your blog. Thanks for being a focal point for all of us lost sheep! I graduated from Randolph in 1968. I was only there for a year and a half, but what a great time it was! I'd love to hear from you when you organize another reunion.
For anyone who might be interested, I left Randolph a few days after graduation for Georgia, where I then went to Troy State Unitersity in Alabama for two years. I married my first husband after my sophomore year and put him through 8 years of Dental School before we divorced.......ah, stupidity and youth DO go together. Four years later, married my present husband of 27 years, who was also my next door neighbor at Randolph - Jim Mitchell. I managed to finish college after a 13 year break between my sophomore and junior years! We have lived outside of Atlanta since our marriage.
I worked as as Assistant Manager at Sears, a bank teller at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, PA, an Airline Reservationist with US Air, Assistant Director of my college sorority headquarters, Assistant Editor of Field Communications with IBM, and spent 10 years teaching Elementary school. I managed to get two degrees: one in Management and the other in teaching. AND I have not figured out what I want to be when I grow up!
I am a certified SCUBA diving instructor, and teach SNORMING (a Japanese fitness program that combines snorkeling and swiming). I have two horses; my quarterhorse mare whom I have had for 22 years and her daughter (born when my mare was 20 - 2 years ago) who is half quarterhorse and half Trakehner. Our discipline is Dressage (the horses who "dance" in the Olympics). I have high hopes for the youngster and hope I can still ride when she is ready to compete!
I have taken the liberty of attaching a few photos: one of my filly and me a few weeks after she was born, one of our Jack Russel at the computer, and one of my underwater photos. Hope you enjoy them!

The airplane is an Edge 540 manufactured in Guthrie , Oklahoma .... The engine is 540 cu. Inches, 10.5:1 Compression ratio, has a Cold Air induction System and is fuel injected. Engine preparation done by Barrett Precision Engines. It makes 320 BHP @ 2850 RPM and weights 385 Lbs. The airplane can fly inverted until it runs out of gas. This is Kirby Chambliss flying it, also a Red Bull pilot and Captain for Southwest

I did this one when I was a Research Associate at the Air War College in 1981-1982, but it wasn't published until 1988. By the way, during that same year (1981-1982) I was a student in the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell and Mike Booker (from Schertz) was also in the same class (Mike was in Seminar 28 and I was in Seminar 9). In 1990, I was sent back from Germany to the Pentagon on TDY and when I walked into the office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, the executive officer looked at me, then pulled out a copy of the book and asked if I was the author. Apparently, it was a hot read in the run-up to the first Gulf War in 1991.

Apparently, it has been republished recently by University Press of the Pacific, though I didn't know anything about it. I suppose they received the OK from Air University to do so.

LUNCH WITH BILL FITZPATRICK '64

Linda Tucker Prater, Kathy Dailey Norton, Jeanne Roberts Stinson, me (Gloria Campbell Gallagher) and my dad, Bill Campbell has lunch on April 9th with Bill Fitzpatrick who was in town visiting his mom for Easter. We had lunch at Mama's Cafe on Pat Booker Road in Selma. Like I reminded the group - I remember nothing of our conversation!

Thanks for staying in touch. I thought I would pass this onto you and see if you thought it was appropriate for my RoHawk family.
We are manufacturing an upper body strength machine in San Marcos, Texas. It doesn't build big muscles like weight lifting. It strengthens, tones and conditions muscles while at the same time assisting in naturally cleansing the body of toxins by increasing circulation (cardio, lymphatic, and pulmonary).
HeartFlex was originally intended to be used while walking - to add the component of upper body exercise - transforming walking into a complete workout.
We are discovering all sorts of new applications which include improving sports performance (wherever hand and forearm strength are useful; golf, tennis, racket sports, swimming, gymnastics, & etc.), rehabilitation (any hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, chest, or back strengthening - where specific muscles and joints must be targeted with passive resistance), and general wellness (it works even if the user is sitting or lying down). It works with all age groups and because it relies upon repetitions rather than strenuous exertion helps regardless of present physical condition. Some trainers have called it "swimming without the water."
We like using the HeartFlex to help folks lower their golf score and improve their sports performance yet our passion is using it to improve quality of life issues. We have had great success with seniors and sedentary folks. HeartFlex may be used while sitting and watching TV and it helps strengthen the muscles necessary to perform life's required functions. We have known seniors and others who have used it to regain the strength and flexibility necessary to live independently.
There are several trainings on the DVD that accompanies the unit including how to use it while walking, for golfing, and for the preparation for and recovery from breast cancer surgery.

KAREN KNOX CAMPBELL '64
Been wanting to let you know that my daughter, Anna, graduated with honors (top 8% of class of over 800) from Basic Training Feb. 25th & is now in tech. school learning how to become a loadmaster on a C-5 (that big bellied plane that carries heavy equipment). She is the spittin image of me (poor child!), 5'2', 125lbs, & even has a Buel Blast motorcycle (not like a Harley, but sold by Harley). She is there in SA; her grandparents would have been sooo proud. She finishes up in tech. school in about 6 wks & then goes to Wash. state for survival school. God, I hope she doesn't have to eat bugs!!! Needless to say, we are SO proud of our 2-striper. She already almost has her private pilot's liscense & hopes to get a slot in OCS or OTS (whatever they call it) - officer candidate/training school to become a pilot. She's a go-getter!!!
