These are just a few of the pictures I took in Hawaii. Joyce Molick Adkins '66 met me and my girlfriend Marianne in Honolulu on Saturday and took us along the east coast and showed us some of the neat sites including "Eternity Beach" here. Joyce has lived in Hawaii for 5 years now and is getting ready to move back to the mainland soon. Marianne and I are celebrating our 60th birthdays.

SKINNY TIE FUNCTION - CLASS OF '66

Hi everyone.

I was in Houston for a few days and Nancy Head and I were able to connect for a few hours. She let me 'borrow' the attached photo: skinny ties - 1965. First.........Look at that attachment........ and see if you can identify the (8) dudes.

Then open the second attachment for the names with the faces. I think that it was some function in 1965. Does anyone remember what "party" would FORCE US to wear the suits and ties???

By the way; does anyone know an email address or phone number for:

Different subject (but perhaps inspired by the fact I now read the obituary column daily!). I experienced an occasion that a lot of our contemporaries have gone or are going through - on Monday I turned 60. Other people seem to have handled that milestone better than I did.

I took the day off to mope over my lost youth.

Turned out okay though. On my day off, I drove about an hour and a half north of the place where I live to see the National Museum of the Pacific War (a WWII museum housed where Admiral Nimitz grew up). I watched the exhibits and thought about the young folks who never got a chance to turn 60 as a result of that war. Then I thought about our era and the fifty thousand who lost their opportunity to grow old because of Vietnam. And the troops who are serving us today around the world who have paid or may pay the price of that service. All of a sudden, turning 60 seemed like a gift.

A gift - like still being in contact with so many of the "kids" I walked the high school halls with - even after all these years. Friendships of long standing are especially sweet. For my year at Randolph, you are the lynchpin to keeping us all connected. Again, I thank you for that.

Hi Gloria....yes, this address and phone number are still good. judywoodruff@msn.com Thank you for giving it to Sandy. We chatted the other night and was so fun visiting with her. I had lost track of her after she went to Atlanta and now she is back home in San Antonio. All is good from Colorado, although, I have never shoveled so much snow as this year. Saw on the news where a box of CO snow had sold on Ebay to some people on the east coast for $200. I must have a million dollars worth of snow around here!!! Some days it is beautiful and others, enough is enough!! Now we are in the deep freeze, but warming to 19 today. Think it is time to bring out the shorts and flip-flops!! My family is doing very well. The girls had all moved away, but gradually coming back. Amy, the oldest, married in the AF and they are in Spokane with their 4 children. Brendan is a KC-135 pilot and due to go back to Iraq in February, but only a 2 mo. stay. Stacy, the middle one, married in Cancun 2 years ago, and they have been living in NY for 3 yrs, but just returned to CO in Sept. and are now living with me till they get their feet on the ground. Stacy graduated from John Jay College of Forensics and hopefully, will have a CSI career. Krissy, the youngest, is in Phoenix with Verizon, managing the store in Scottsdale, and will be returning to CO in March, maybe sooner if her transfer goes thru. Not sure why she would trade that weather for this, but have to say the summers are much more bearable in CO. That is the wonderful thing about daughters, they always find their way home. One of my dreams has been to go to the Indy 500 and that was my 50-10 birthday present from the girls. We all went and had such a great time and it has now become our annual trip together. My dad raced when I was very young, so guess it is in my blood. Sandy and I were wondering if anyone has heard from Harry Johnson. Is he still in the TX area??? I still have all my critters. Last count, 3 dogs and 4 cats. Two new horses, Mom and baby, coming this way as soon as the barn remodel is complete, thank you Stacy!! This will be her project!! She and Krissy want to buy, train and sell. I can see buy and keep, maybe train but not sell. I have really enjoyed reading the Randolph blog and fun to see the pictures. Hope all is well with you and your family. Happy 2007 to you and your family!!! Will attach some snow pictures for you.

We want to wish all our friends and family a wonderful holiday season. May you all enjoy every day and may all your days be filled with love and joy!

As most of you may already know, I am in San Antonio, Texas staying with my mother. She had a fall in November, 2005 and was hospitalized for 3 months because of complications, My sister Mary came from Kentucky and we spent every day with her (in the 5 different hospital/rehabs she was in). Mom came home on February 24, 2006 and Mary stayed for another month until she felt I was able to handle things without her assistance. Mary is a nurse and Mom would not be here today if it wasn't for her expertise and help. Mary has come two more times to spend time with Mom while I went to visit my family. I have been staying with Mom for a year now and she is getting a little stronger each day.

Rick is living and working in Victoria, Texas. He is the General Manager of Victoria Electric Cooperative and really enjoys his job. He has been there for 2 years. I was still living in Carrollton and traveling back and forth from Carrollton to Victoria before Mom's fall. Rick has been training and participating in triatholons and it keeps him in good shape and very busy.

All 3 of our boys and their families live in the Dallas area. Chris and Heather have moved into our home in Carrollton and they are taking care of the house and dogs. They have helped us so much and we are so appreciative of all they do. Ben and Becky and our grandson Tyler also live in Carrollton. Tyler is a joy. He turned 3 in October and is keeping his mom and dad hopping. Matt and his wife Kristina live in Frisco, Texas. They have blessed us with our second grandson on November 1 this year. Braylon Edward Norton is a beautiful healthy baby. We are both looking forward to seeing all our children and grandchildren for Christmas. Grandma and I will go to Carrollton on Wednesday, December 20 and return on January 3, 2007. Rick will arrive in Carrollton on December 23rd. It will be wonderful to have us all together for the holidays.

I think of all our friends and family often.

Jan retired from public school teaching in May 2004. She now "works" part time as secretary or Ministry Assistant at First Christian Church in Belton, TX where she lives with her husband Bill. She is also the Women's Ministry Leader at her church. Jan's father passes away in January 2006 but her mom is still with us and lives close by. Jan's husband is the Director of Church Relations at Mary Hardin-Baylor. They have two children -- Richard and Susan. Richard lives in Dallas and is employed by Women of Faith and Susan and her husband, Wes, are Missionaries in Bucharest, Romania!

Gloria and Danny's son, Kelly Gallagher. He's single, 24 and lives in Boynton Beach, Florida. He is a CAD tech for an architect.

Gloria's daughter, Allison, with her husband Todd and Allison's kids, Stephen, 16, Cole, 14, Mason, 10, Chase 7, and Makenna 6. They live in Jacksonville, Florida.

In April, son, Kyle Pechuls and his family moved to Texas and now live in San Marcos. Kyle, Donna, Dylan (11) and Tony (10) are all settled in their new home. Kyle's handyman business is in full swing!

Son, Mark Pechuls with his wife, Chongok and son, Hanul (6) at Kadena AFB, Okinawa. Mark will be deployed to Iraq in January 2007.

HAYNES BAUMGARDNER '65

I had lunch with Cheryl Baumgardner today at the Gruene River Tea House in Grune, Texas. That's Cheryl in the green sweater to the left. We had a really good time catching up. We had lunch when I first moved here but haven't been able to get together again until now. Cheryl is married to Haynes and she is the former Cheryl Green from Schertz High School. We were freshmen at Schertz Cibolo High together way back before we even knew there would be a Randolph High or a Haynes Baumgardner!

Haynes teaches Math at MacArthur High School in San Antonio. This is his twelth year in education. Prior to teaching at MacArthur, he spent ten years as a Special Education teacher at Garner Middle School. He taught math all ten years and also taught science and English several of those years. He has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University, a Master's of Science in Business degree from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master's of Education degree from Southwest Texas State University. Prior to entering the education field, he spent over twenty-five years in the Air Force retiring as a Colonel.

Cheryl and Haynes have two children - Natalie who is 36, a Bonds Trader in Boston and Trey - 34, a Systems Network Engineer living in Dallas. Cheryl keeps busy volunteering wherever she can and leads two seniors Bible Study groups. haynescheryl@ev1.net

A little before 1400 hours on Friday, Faisal Rana and Umar Abdul Wahhab prepared the Pentagon chapel for worship.

Fridays are always busy at the chapel, on the Pentagon's first level, E-ring, fourth corridor, about where American Airlines Flight 77 slammed into the building that awful morning five years ago. The chapel hums all week, but settle into one of the seats on Friday and you'll get a survey course in the great religions. There's a Catholic Mass at 11:30, a Jewish service at 12:30 and an Islamic service at 2.
